Khaidi No 150 Review
Khaidi no 150 is the remake of Tamil blockbuster Katthi starring Vijay and samantha. After a long gap of almost 9 years chiranjeevi is back to movies as a full fledged hero. Let’s see how this VV Vinayak directorial turned out.
Khaidi No 150 is the story of a thief Katthi seenu who accidentally comes into the life of Social activist Shankar. Surprisingly both of them looks exactly the same. How their roles got interchanged ? What is the problem Shankar’s village Neeruru is facing ? How shankar and Seenu solved the problem forms the rest of the story.
Chiranjeevi is the show stealer for the movie. He did everything with ease. His acting style, diction, comedy timing , emotions everything were perfect. His dance is a special mention. His graceful moves in the dances are perfect treat to watch on screen. He tried his trademark Veena step again in Ratthalu song. Shoe lace step in Sundari song is beautiful. Kajal Agarwal is just like every other commercial movie heroine without any prior importance, just to add some glamour and colour to the film. Tarun Arora is okay, but not so impressive. Rest of the actors did their best to fit in their roles.
Khaidi No 150 is almost the same as its original Katthi. Some additional comedy sequences and the climax are the only changes done in the story. The irony is that both the changes failed big time. Climax is a big let down and the major negative for the movie. The main thing Khaidi No 150 lacks when compared to Katthi is, the BGM. Anirudh’s BGM for Katthi was outstanding. There is no exaggeration if we say that BGM played a crucial role in the success of that movie. Here Khaidi No 150 got some poor BGM which resulted in not so great elevation of the important scenes. The major highlights include coin fight, Pipeline scene, mass suicide, press meet. Ram Charan guest apperance in Ammadu Let’s do Kummudu is a treat to watch. Fans will go gaga watching son and father dancing together. The love track between the lead pair is very artificial and there is no proper strong point of love which lead to a poor chemistry between them (except in songs).
Comedian Ali did a great supporting role to the hero. Where as Brahmanandam is used for yet another routine outdated bakara role. Posani Krishna Murali, Prudhvi and Jaya Prakash are just wasted. Cinematography by Ratnavelu is excellent. The production values are grand. Songs by DSP are good enough and reached next level with the presence of chiru. Editing is okay. There are some great dialogues from the pen of Sai Madhav Burra like “Nannu Chusi Navvina vallu Edche roju Vastundi”, “Gully politics nunchi Delhi politics daka thattukuni vacchina vadini ”
- Message / Speech
- Forced comedy
On a whole Khaidi No 150 is a feast for fans and will be a good movie to watch for the normal audience this pongal. Will work like charm in B and C centers. Finally Boss is Back after a gap.
