Fukrey returns Review :
Cast: Pulkit Samrat, varun Sharma, Richa chaddha, Ali fazal, manjot singh, Pankaj Tripathi
Director: Mrigdeep singh lamba
Producer: Farhan akthar, Ritesh sidhwani
Fukrey Returns Story :
The 4 Delhi gully boys are minting the lottery money with the help of choocha’s god’s gift. All are well off, while zafar and hunni are making wedding plans with their girlfriends. Choocha and lali are still struggling with their single lives. On the other hand, Bhooli panjaban is trying all ends out to get out of the jail and seek revenge, makes a deal with a local minister, babu lal, for 10 crores. Eventually, her efforts yield a result. She gets out of tihar and kidnaps the 4 fukrey along with Pandit Ji threatens them pay up the money she promised to babu lal by setting up an investment firm, and people to invest their money in the dream-lottery business. Having no other way left out, they agree and make huge collection of money, make lottery number from choocha’s dream and do the booking.
The plot takes a sudden twist when babu lal, who runs the lottery business, gets to know about this and asks his assistant to change the lottery number over the night. He goes a step further raking up a rumor saying the huni-choocha dream factory has turned up to be a fraud company and looted the investors’ money. Now the 4 fukrey are running for their lives from both Delhi public and bhooli panjaban, who in turn is running from babu lal. Suddenly Choocha seems to be having visions of future which turn out to be true. He calls it ‘DejaChu’. How they get out of the trouble makes the rest of story.
Spotlight: Varun Sharma-Pulkit Samrat were the right horses to bet on. They carried the whole film with the same tempo as that of first installment fukrey(2013). Though Pankaj Tripathi, Richa Chadha were hilariously awesome as well, Varun-Pulkit takes the major cake.
Reviewer’s word: A laughter riot guaranteed to make your mood lighter. I suggest you watch fukrey before watching fukrey returns. Pankaj tripathi’s one-liners and timely punches, Richa chaddha’s expressions make the film much funnier than it would be without them. Varun Sharma would forever be remembered as choocha for the rest of his life. He is undoubtedly the right pick for the role. Though Manjot Singh as Lali, Ali fazal as Zafar didn’t have much to do, they just did what they were expected to.
1) The tempo of the movie always makes you connected with the first half.
2) Lead actors. Their comic timing was impeccable.
3) Nativity. Delhi waale and most of the youth will get connected to few scenes.
4) Dialogues, screenplay, direction. The writing department for sure did a splendid job in making the movie
pennyworth. Unfortunately, it got overshadowed by the acting department.
5) Production values. CGI scenes weren’t that bad and won’t make feel embarrassed at the same time as well.
1) Little drag in the second half.
2) Deviation from reality in the end. Anyways who cares about logic when the movie is made only to make you
Fukrey Returns Movie Rating: 3.5/5

Music: Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Sanchit Balhara
Produced: Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Sudhanshu Vats, Ajit Andhare

Cinematography: Sudeep Chatterjee
Jalaluddin Khilji establishes Khilji Empire with Delhi as capital, marries his daughter to his nephew Allahuddin. Allahuddin who is sent to fight mongols, task next to impossible, returns with success. He is then made governor of Kara. With growing thirst for power, he lays siege on Devgiri, looting almost everything from pin to women. Jalaluddin grows suspicious of his moves and pays an unexpected visit to his camp in Devgiri, which was actually anticipated by Allahuddin Khilji. Allahuddin eventually kills Jalaluddin and crowns himself as the sultan-e-hind (emperor of hind).
Meanwhile, the king of Mewar, Maharawal Ratan Singh travels to Singhal to buy some pearls for his wife Nagavati, meets Padmavathi. Padmavati being known as the most beautiful woman of then times, princess of Singhal, falls for him. They both eventually get married and travel to Chittor, capital of mewar. Ratan singh then introduces her to their chief priest Raghav Chetan, who in turn lusts for her. He watches the king and queen getting intimate and gets caught. Angered Ratan singh gets him ostracized from the kingdom. Raghav pledges revenge.
Khilji accompanied by his prime/sex slave, Mallik Kaffur, meet Raghav Ketan. Ketan describes Padmavati’s beauty in such a way that khilji plans an attack on Mewar to capture. Sets up huge camps outside the heavily fortified Chittor fort and cuts out the supplies to the city. Then patiently waits for 2 months for a right time to launch attack. Ratan Singh approaches other Rajput kings for an alliance only getting a denial as response. In a turn of events, Khilji suddenly sends out a message of peace to Ratan singh and wishes to visit the city before leaving to delhi. Agreeing to Ratan singh’s terms, Khilji comes alone, unarmed, wishes to see Padmavati. Unable to accept his wish, Ratan singh sketches out a plan to show her for a second in a mirror. Khilji then invites Ratan singh to be his guest on the day he would be leaving to delhi. Ratan as complied by rules and conditions goes unarmed, alone into the camp. Khilji abducts him to delhi using him to make padmavati surrender to him. After a brief exchange of terms and conditions, Padmavati enters Delhi with 800 best soldiers disguised as queen’s entourage. Ratan singh is rescued, meets khilji, asks him to get ready for dire consequences and leaves while the famous Gora-Badal sacrifice their lives fighting and barricading their beloved king.
Khilji now sets out for a war with the Suryavanshi rajputs. Ratan singh disheartened by the death of Gora-Badal singh, decides to go on duel against Khilji instead of whole troops fighting. As history repeats itself, khilji kills Ratan singh in an unprecedented attack from behind by Mallik kaffur.
Padmavati, upon being granted the permission of jauhar by her king, gathers all Rajput women and sacrifice their lives before khilji even reaches them. The film ends with the narrator mentioning this as the biggest defeat Khilji ever faced.
- Historical accuracy is questionable as there are many deviations from the original story about how things went. The roles of parrot and Devpal are completely eliminated.
- Shah Rukh Khan was first approached by SLB to play Allahuddin Khilji. The role somehow went to Ranveer Singh and this guy did inch to inch justice to the role. The portrayal was quite menacing and sadistic. Ranveer’s physical transformation and disappearance from media made a great impact on how the role carved out. This film solely belongs to him.
- Deepika as Padmavati was also the proven as the right choice. In Each and every frame she appears on the screen, we wish we had two more eyes just to look at her. She was royal, beautiful and courageous.
- Cinematography, above everything, is the reason for the film’s output. Ingenious use of filters, camera angles, and locations would only be possible to a Sudeep Chatterjee.
- Cinematography +2
- Deepika, Shahid, Ranveer trio performances +3
- Artwork +3
- Direction +2
- Historical inaccuracy -2
- Khilji character makes audience develop a soft corner by the end. -2
- Runtime -1
Final Word: Watch it just as a movie for some great performances, artwork and skills.

Kahaani 2 Hindi Movie Review |Vidya Balan
Kahaani 2 Movie Review
Kahaani which released five years back was a surprise hit. It was widely successful for presenting a female character so loud and for its outstanding content.
This time Kahaani-2 is a story of Durga Rani Singh. A woman who accused of murder and kidnapping. But who is DurgaRani? Is she the protagonist or antagonist or is there any surprise element like we had in the 1st part? Does Kahaani 2 stand at par with the expectations that the first film in the franchise set? Does VidyaBalan manage to leave an impact with her character the way she did with her Vidya Bagchi? Let’s Find out.
The movie is realistic, and the proceedings tightly wrapped, weaving a beautiful air of mystery around Vidya Balan’s Vidya Sinha/Durga Rani Singh.
The film brings out difficult social issues, and how the society reacts to them and it has showcased in an interesting and engaging manner.
Artists Performance :
Vidhyabalan is impeccable and performed with ease. Her character is one of the best in the recent times and probably the best female character after Queen starring Kangana. The emotion she carries in search of her daughter is truly outstanding and is a standout.
Arjun Rampal in the character of Indrajeet Singh as a cop is sincere and adding an asset to the movie. And the teenage girl performance is stunning and is a treat to watch.
Direction by Sujoy Ghosh is excellent, and the screenplay is outstanding. The twists are very engaging, but the climax is a big let down. BGM is good and it helped in carrying the suspense element.cinematography is top-notch.
- Slow pace
Final Verdict :
Kahaani-2 is engaging with some terrific Performances as well as a tightly wrapped story and an excellent screenplay, but its execution falls flat especially last 20 minutes. It makes the audience come out of the theaters disappointed. Neglecting the minus points, the film is a decent watch for some breath-taking performance from Vidya.
Kahaani 2 Rating : 3/5
