Rangasthalam Movie Review
Ram Charan and Sukumar’s Rangasthalam finally hit the screens today. It is one of the much-awaited projects in the recent times. The film features Samantha, Aadi Pinnisetty, Jagapathi Babu and others in important roles. The film sets in 80’s village backdrop and the already released trailers already created a sensation at the box office. Let’s see whether the film reached the expectations or not.
The story starts with the introduction of Chitti Babu (Ram Charan) who falls in love with Rama Lakshmi (Samantha). The village is under the rule of ruthless president Phanindra Bhupathi (Jagapathi Babu). To fight against him Kumar Babu (Aadi), wants to contest in the elections as president. Since then, they face a lot of struggles. The rest of the story is, how they overcome the difficulties?
The biggest plus to the film is Sukumar’s screenplay and direction. The story looks rustic and close to 80’s ambiance. The interval gang, pre-climax and climax completely steals the show. Ram Charan lived in the role of Chitti Babu. He gave life to that role. He has improved a lot and made the audience fall in love with his terrific performance in this film. Especially, in the climax, the way actor portrayed the emotions are top notch. On the other hand, Samantha as Rama Lakshmi did a great job. He convinced the audience as Lakshmi with her performance.
Anasuya as Rangamatha, Aadi as Kumar Babu and Jagapathi Babu as president steal the show with their spectacular performance. Devi Sri Prasad’s music is another biggest asset to the film. Rathavelu spelled the magic with his camera work. Mythri Movie Makers production values are good. One of the biggest minus in the film is the length of the movie and placement of the item song Jigelu Rani. Sukumar once again proved his mettle and mark to Telugu audience. The way he presented the characters and screenplay will make the audience watch the film again and again. Chandrabose needs special mention for his fantastic lyrics.
On a whole, it is a visual treat for the movie lovers especially mega fans. The mega hero is back with a spectacular performance after a long time and proved himself that he can go to any extent to give a fantastic performance. All the characters, characterization and the story will make you watch the film again and again.

Music Directors: Vishal-Shekhar
Allu Arjun and Anu Emmanuel starrer Na Peru Surya Naa Illu India hit the screens today. With super positive pre-release talk, this movie is expected to be a big hit. Vakkantham Vamsi has turned director for this patriotic movie which is produced by Lagadapati Sridhar. The teasers and trailers have given hints that this movie is to mark a hattrick in TFI after Rangasthalam and Bharath Ane Nenu were marked as super duper hits. Check out the full review of Naa Peru Surya Naa Illu India.
Surya(Allu Arjun) is an army officer with a great potential. His desperate desire is to serve the country by working in the border as a stand guard. Though he is one of the most sincere officers, he fails to manage his anger.
Surya gets into troubles after he kills a terrosit and gets suspended from his duty. Though his higher officials know his potentional, there is nothing they can do. Surya’s Godfather- the mentor (Rao Ramesh) is a commanding officer. He gives only one chance to Surya on one condition. What is that condition and how Surya deals with people whom he had problems in the past is the rest of the story.
Roles and performances :
Stylish Star Allu Arjun looks really apt as an angry army man. His well-built body and the mannerisms depict a typical army officer. Action scenes are really good with extraordinary performance by Bunny.
Anu Emmanuel looks really beautiful and has done a good job in the limited role she had. Emotional scenes were good. Anu and Allu Arjun look good together. Their chemistry has worked out well.
Arjun who appeared on the screen after a long time had justified his role well.
Rao Ramesh, Boman Irani, Nadiya, Sharath Kumar, Vennela Kishore, Vikram Sahadev were good and justified their roles well.
As a debutant director, it is fortunate that Vakkantam Vamsi made his own mark. With good story line and well-built screenplay, the movie has come out well. The dialogues are written well and are appealing. Allu Arjun’s hardwork is visible on the screen.
The first half is good with properly placed twists and plots. The intervel bang is just superb.
The second half falls a little flat here and there but the climax serves thrill. Songs are well-placed. The patriotism is shown in a different way and is appealing.
A good job by direction department. Dialogues are good and message-oriented. The cinematography is superb with rich landscapes and scenes.
Music by Vishal-Shekhar is very good. The Bgm is in sync with the narration of the story. Production values are very rich and lavish.
A good army-backdrop movie with a patriotic feel. Recommended for this weekend.
